However, Kevin’s real passion comes from sharing his experience and knowledge with students.

Week 1 - Build Your Jazz Foundation

Play with essential jazz tools like 7th chords, voice leading, and swing feel—then start using them in real progressions. By the end of the week, you’ll be comping confidently with both hands and playing with authentic jazz rhythm.

Week 2 - Explore Styles & Start Comping

This week, you’ll comp through ii-V-I progressions, experiment with guide tones, and play in jazz ballad, swing, and Bossa Nova styles. You’ll build rhythmic variety and start sounding more like a real jazz pianist with both hands working together.

Week 3 - Walk the Bass

This week is all about learning to walk—basslines, that is. You’ll explore root movements, broken fifths, and classic walking patterns to comp through jazz standards with a steady, swinging low end.

Week 4 - Putting It Together

Combine your comping, rhythm, and bass lines into a full jazz standard composed by Kevin.
